I'm thrilled to be participating in the Bike For Brain Health with Kinectrics! I am biking in honour of my late grandfather, whose life was unfortunately cut short due to Alzheimer's disease.
More than 770,000 Canadians are living with dementia. By 2031, that number is projected to climb to over a million Canadians living with dementia without intervention and by 2050 the number is expected to climb to 1.7 million. With this expected increase, it's more important than ever to fund important research into preventative care and effective treatment for Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
I am raising money to support research conducted by Baycrest in dementia, innovation, care and education globally. The research conducted at Rotman Research Institute aims to delay or prevent dementia altogether through foundational and translational science.
Your support is much appreciated.
