When my mother was finally diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, a full 12 years before she passed away, my brothers and I began to foster and further gather a team of professionals to deal with her life going forward. One of the main participants of this team was Dr. Thiru Yogaparan, one of the leads at the Baycrest Geriatric Assessment Clinic. She continued to be an essential advisor during our mother’s journey. She was essential in helping us monitor mom’s illness progression, and provided invaluable guidance and support to us as caregivers. Before my mom’s diagnosis, I was not aware of the other services that Baycrest provide to the community abroad apart from the provision of long term nursing and home care.Support My Participation in the Pro-Am for Alzheimer's™ in support of Baycrest! Funds raised support care and research into Alzheimer’s and related dementias at Baycrest Foundation, one of the world’s top neurocognitive science centres in research on memory and aging.
