On June 1st, I am on a team I created, Sandra’s Spinners, to do a 75km bike ride on the DVP to raise money for Baycrest. Baycrest promotes excellence in research, innovation, education, and care in the fields of aging and brain health. This ride and fundraise is done in memory of my mom who battled cognitive difficulties almost all of her life. Last year our team raised over $27K for a 2-year total of just under $50K. This year we have extra incentive with my sister Heidi’s successful operation on her benign brain tumour and her ongoing recovery.
