Bike for Brain Health 2026: Ms. Karen Freedman

Sometimes we forget an appointment, parking spot, phone, keys or what we were supposed to get from the basement. That is natural and normal forgetfulness.

What is NOT normal and natural is that my longtime friend, Andrea Joyce, was diagnosed with Early Onset Dementia - caused by Alzheimer's Disease at the age of 58.

That is why I'm riding with Andrea, her family and her team "AJ's Brainy Bunch" on the DVP for "Bike for Brain Health" benefitting BAYCREST on May 31st.

BAYCREST is close to my heart! Aside from assisting Andrea in her brain health, I have had family members go through cognitive assessments, reside in their facilities and I actually took speech therapy when I was in young.

BAYCREST is a global leader in innovation, care, education, programs and research to treat Alzheimer's and other dementias.

Approximately 10 people are diagnosed with dementia every hour!
