I’m raising money in support of Baycrest by participating in the 2025 Mattamy Homes Bike For Brain Health.
More than 770,000 Canadians are living with dementia. My mom is one of those people. Last year, she was diagnosed with a rare neurological disease that changed the person we knew and loved. Someone who had a vibrant personality, an invested mom and grandma and loving spouse lost their ability to do anything on their own. All normal day to day activities like eating, bathing and socializing with family and friends transformed; and rapidly. My family and I turned to experts at Baycrest to help us manage the matriarch of our family - for that I am extremely grateful.
Today, My mom has a team of dedicated Personal Support Workers, people who have become like family to us, that now support her seven days a week. This illness effected someone at just 65 years of age. Together let's help raise awareness and continue to make a difference.
A massive thank you to the critical work Baycrest is leading in dementia research, innovation, care and education globally.
Thank you to everyone who hears my story and contributes!
