My mom was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's at age 57. Little did I know that it was the underlying reason why she wouldn't come visit me. She wasn't able to follow map directions and, unfortunately, she had been battling this horrible disease on her own to avoid bothering anybody. We have been very fortunate with the support and care provided by all throughout the different stages, all showing care, compassion, and love.
More than 770,000 Canadians are living with dementia. By 2031, that number is projected to climb to over a million Canadians living with dementia without intervention. Please be aware of changes in your loved ones' behavior and health.
