I’m raising money in support of Baycrest by participating in the Mattamy Homes Bike For Brain Health.
More than 770,000 Canadians are currently living with dementia — a number projected to soar to nearly one million by 2030 as Canada’s population ages and demographics shift, without intervention.
That’s why we’re not just riding — we’re cycling toward change.
Your support helps raise critical funds for Baycrest, a global leader in research, care, education, and innovation in the field of brain health and aging.
I have been fortunate enough to play a small role in the Baycrest Foundation's mission as their 2025 summer intern. I've seen first-hand the heart, passion, and soul that goes into this organization, and that is one of the reasons that I am riding in this event.
I am also riding for my late great-grandfather Irving Rife who would be so proud of how far Baycrest has come. He dedicated three decades of his life to Baycrest as a volunteer and member of the Men's Service Group, earning both the MSG President's Award and Man of the Year title in the late 1970s. When he passed, an article about his service read as follows:
"During each of the 30 years that Irving Rife dedicated to Baycrest’s Jewish Home for the Aged, those around him were rewarded with his keen, uninhibited sense of humour as well as his conviction and commitment to the place he loved."
When you donate to my ride, you’re not only making a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected today — you’re helping carry forward Zaidy Irving's legacy and create a future free from dementia for generations to come.
