‍♂ Riding for Brain Health — Help Me Reach My Goal

This year, I’m participating in the Mattamy Homes Bike for Brain Health in support of Baycrest.

For me, this ride is personal.

Over the past few years, I’ve seen a couple of close friends and important people in my life watch their families go through the difficult reality of dementia. It’s incredibly hard to see someone you love slowly lose memories, independence, and pieces of who they are — and just as hard to watch the emotional toll it takes on the people caring for them.

Seeing that up close made me realize how devastating this disease truly is, and how important it is that we support research, care, and innovation in brain health.

Right now, more than 770,000 Canadians are living with dementia, and that number is expected to reach nearly 1 million by 2030.

That’s why I’m not just riding — I’m riding with purpose.I’m riding for the families navigating this journey today, and for a future where fewer people have to face this disease.

Baycrest is a global leader in brain health and aging research, working to advance treatments, improve care, and move us closer to a world where dementia no longer steals so much from so many.
