Pro-Am for Alzheimer’s in support of Baycrest

Hi All,

Alzheimer's is the 6th leading cause of death in Canada.  With more than 414 Canadians developing dementia daily, it's estimated that 1.4 million people in Canada will be living with dementia or other forms of age-related cognitive impairment by 2031. Baycrest is leading the fight as the #1 research intensive hospital in Canada and they're getting closer to defeating Alzheimer's for good.

As we age, we see more of our friends and family suffer with these terrible cognitive impairment diseases.  Often now, the impact is on the generation before ours; our parents, uncles, aunts, friends’ parents, etc.  In our family, we were reminded of this again this last year, as my brother-in-law’s father, Heinz Brossmann, passed away after the multiyear gradual decline that comes with this battle.  Heinz was a gentle soul and when he asked you, “how are you?”, you always felt he really wanted to know how you were!!

This is why I am once again lacing up my skates to raise money for the MCOCI Pro-Am for Alzheimer’s supporting Baycrest.

I know many have their own initiatives that they support so there is no pressure at all to donate and any amount large or small is appreciated. If you do wish to donate. my personal donation page is at the link below.

Cheers and thank you,

Jamie
