Alzheimer’s dementia are devastating diseases that impact millions of families, including mine. My grandfather, David Tartakovsky, lived with dementia for 9 years before passing away in 2021. He was an incredibly intelligent man with a deep curiosity about the world. He spoke many languages, had knowledge across countless subjects, and loved thoughtful conversation. Outside of his intellectual passions, he loved spending time in nature, especially hiking and enjoying the outdoors.
I am raising money in his honour and in support of all families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. Any donation would be greatly appreciated and will help Baycrest continue its vital work in Alzheimer’s and dementia research. The Pro-Am for Alzheimer’s in support of Baycrest is the largest hockey charity event in North America. This unique two-day tournament in Toronto brings together former hockey professionals and passionate hockey fans to skate in support of Alzheimer’s research and care.By contributing to this event, you are helping fund critical care and groundbreaking research into Alzheimer’s and related dementias at Baycrest Foundation, one of the world’s leading centres for neurocognitive science focused on memory and aging.Thank you in advance for your generosity and for helping honour my grandfather’s memory while supporting families facing this disease.
