Every year I step onto the ice at the Baycrest Pro-Am Hockey Tournament for a reason that goes far beyond hockey.
This event is about people.
It’s about parents, grandparents, partners, friends, teammates, neighbours, anyone whose life has been changed by Alzheimer’s. If you’ve ever watched someone you love slowly lose memories, independence, or connection, then you understand why this cause matters so much.
For me, this journey started with my grandfather. His photo is still on the back of my goalie helmet today. He inspires me every time I play and reminds me why this fight continues.
Over the past years, I’ve been proud to participate in this tournament and raise more than $100,000 in support of Baycrest’s world leading work in brain health and Alzheimer’s research
But we’re not finished yet. Not even close.
Why This Matters
More than half a million Canadians are living with Alzheimer’s today and millions more family members and caregivers are affected alongside them.
Research changes outcomes.
Support improves quality of life.
Awareness brings hope.
Events like the Baycrest Pro-Am make all of that possible.
This Year, I’m Skating for All of Us
Whether Alzheimer’s has affected your family directly or someone close to you, this is a chance to be part of something meaningful.
Your support helps:
• Advance critical research
• Improve care for patients and families
• Move us closer to prevention and better treatments
• Bring hope to the people who need it most
Every donation makes a difference. Truly.
