I’m raising money in support of Baycrest by participating in the 2026 Mattamy Homes Bike For Brain Health.  Why you ask?

• ​Seeing the devastating impact on my family, and my husband's family as we watch our loved ones decline into someone we've already lost, although they are still with us in the physical world.  From a mental capacity, they are no longer the people we know and remember from our younger years.
• As we see the next generation approaching their senior years, can we enable earlier detection/diagnosis, so that any dementia-related diseases become more manageable, and less of significant decline over time?
• And for ourselves, give us another 10-20 years, can we prevent ourselves from receiving a dementia diagnosis?

More than 770,000 Canadians are living with dementia. By 2031, that number is projected to climb to over a million Canadians living with dementia without intervention.
