2026 marks the third year in a row that I am riding in the Baycrest Bike for Brain Health to raise money for dementia care and research. In previous years, I've ridden in memory of my Nonna, and this year I am proud to be riding in honour of Janet Sansom. Janet, who is the kind-hearted, compassionate, and supportive mom of one of my dearest friends, Jaedie, was diagnosed with dementia last year and to be able to represent Janet with her name on my jersey is something I'm very proud to be doing.
To provide broader context on the impact dementia has, an estimated 564,000 Canadians were living with dementia in 2020. By 2031, that number is projected to climb to 937,000 Canadians living with dementia without intervention. By making a donation, you are helping to make a difference the critical work Baycrest is leading in dementia research, innovation, care, and education globally.
If you're in a position to donate, any amount is very much appreciated!
